This will be used for grading to subgrade, all roads, driveways buildings etc. There are a lot of variables so you do realize we can only estimate the remaining material to go off site. I would guess 65000 to 75000 cubic yards to go off site. Based on that you are looking at around 3000 truckloads. It will probably be very similar to the operation that Powell S&G just completed of North Mason road. 8-12 loads per day. I don’t believe they had any traffic complaints off North Mason nor coming on to route 13. Although the height of the gravel cut is 20 feet or so it is not a lot of acreage being excavated. I believe less than 3-3.5 acres would be the gravel removal area, the rest is regrade. We are not going to be excavating a massive area as you would believe in Mr. Bechis letter. In fact it likely will not be visible from the town center due to the vast wooded buffer that will be undisturbed, and the relatively small cut area. I also do not envision any type of traffic issue with 8-12 trucks entering and leaving the site during the day. I hope this helps. Thank you for the letter. I appreciate the quick response to the issues raised. Can you give me an estimate of the number of cubic yards of material you expect to remove and the approximate number of truck trips this would take? I am not asking for a firm number to the pebble, but a reasonable estimate. During this entire process we have felt that the excavation of the site was incidental to construction. Based on the discussion last night I contracted Meridian to dig into this matter and determine the validity of the abutter concern. Attached is the letter from Doug Brodeur the engineering manager at Meridian. His determination: “Which is clear based on the Brookline Regulations, RSA, and case law that one is unequivocally not required”. I hope this puts those questions to rest. Please let me know if you need additional information. Sincerely, Jay Chrystal Village Brook LLC
